Eagles notes: Evan Mathis says he and Jason Kelce are ahead of schedule

Appearing on Philly Sports Talk, Eagles OG Evan Mathis provided some good news on the status of the Eagles' offensive line.

Mathis revealed that he will resume practicing this week, although he is not yet eligible to play until Week 10 against the Panthers, when he'll come off of short-term injured reserve.

Mathis also said in regard to Jason Kelce, "I think Jason is ahead of schedule... If all things go well for him, he could possibly play against the Texans."

It was previously thought that Kelce could return against the Panthers Week 10. He would be a week ahead of schedule if he were able to play in Houston. The full video is below:

The Eagles open as 2.5 point underdogs in Arizona this week. The Cowboys (seemingly the Eagles' biggest competition in the division) open as 9.5 point home favorites over the Redskins.

In the last draft, the wide receiver class was regarded by many as among the best ever. 23 teams drafted at least one WR. Six teams (including the Eagles) double-dipped on WRs, and the Packers and Jets both selected three WRs. Those of you who follow the draft closely had very strong opinions of what receivers you liked and didn't like, especially considering the Eagles were likely to dip their toe into the WR pool. Below is a list of the 33 receivers drafted, and their stats so far this year. To note, the following list provides no context, in that it does not explain if a player may have been injured, if he's on a team that is already very strong at WR, etc. They are just raw numbers.
