Eagles LB Bradham arrested in Miami; will report to camp Wednesday

Nigel Bradham will report to training camp with Eagles veterans Wednesday, a team source said, despite his arrest in Miami over an assault allegation.

According to the arrest report, Bradham was among a group of six people who grew angry over alleged victim Jean Eliphete Courtois' "speed of service" at the beach area of the Hilton Bentley hotel in Miami last week. An NBC Miami story said Courtois, 40, was renting the party an umbrella, paid for with Bradham's credit card.

That detail proved unfortunate for Bradham when he and his party fled the scene, after Bradham "without provocation, struck the victim in the nose with a closed fist, causing the victim to fall to the ground," the complaint said. The complaint said other members of Bradham's party then joined in on the assault of Courtois, leaving him with a broken nose, contusions and a lacerated lip.

Bradham turned himself in to police on Monday and was charged with aggravated battery. Courtois picked him out of a photographic lineup, police said.

Bradham's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said he would not comment at this time.

The Eagles released a statement saying they are aware of the incident and "have been in contact with Nigel and the proper authorities," but "due to the ongoing legal process," they would have no further comment now.

Bradham is a 26-year-old former Florida State star who signed a two-year, free-agent contract with the Eagles after four years in Buffalo. In 2014, Bradham played under current Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, who seems to have penciled him in as a starter.
