DB E.J. Biggers, WR Seyi Ajirotutu sign with Eagles

Update (4:14 p.m.): The Eagles have signed wide receiver Seyi Ajirotutu and defensive back E.J. Biggers to one-year deals.

From earlier: Defensive back E.J. Biggers is visiting the Eagles on Tuesday, a league source confirmed. The visit was first reported by Pro Football Talk.

Biggers, 27, is a six-year veteran who spent the past two seasons with Washington. He also played for Tampa Bay. Biggers has mostly played cornerback, although he has safety experience. Biggers has started 31 NFL games, including five at safety for Washington in 2013. He has four career interceptions.

The 6-foot, 185-pound Biggers went to Western Michigan and was a 2009 seventh-round pick.

The Eagles have a clear need at safety, where they have not replaced departed starter Nate Allen. Earl Wolff is the frontrunner to take over the starting job at this point. They could also use more depth at cornerback, where the team has added Byron Maxwell and Walter Thurmond this offseason.
