Chip: 3 more practices before we have to know about Kendricks

Eagles coach Chip Kelly spoke to reporters Thursday for the last time before Sunday's game at Arizona. The injury picture remains unclear, with inside linebacker Mychal Kendricks and running back/returner Darren Sproles listed as limited Wednesday and Thursday. Kendricks seemed to sit out part of a drill early in Thursday's workout.

Kelly said Kendricks "has been running around." He noted that Kendricks has three more training sessions before Sunday. But with a player who has been out since Week 2, when Kendricks suffered a calf strain, it seems likely the Eagles would want to see him practice fully, at least once or twice, on one of the key prep days, which are Wednesday and Thursday for a Sunday game. Kendricks was not a full participant either day. Ditto Sproles, who is coming back from an MCL sprain suffered just before the bye, against the Giants.

Other snippets from Kelly's session:

*He agreed that offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland has been a key to the offensive line remaining functional through several injuries. "We've got teachers," he said. Kelly also reiterated that the Eagles' practice tempo allows for more reps for subs and thus better continuity, if they are called upon to play.

*Kelly said the changes to the practice schedule corner Cary Williams alluded to earlier in the week were planned, and not the result of any player complaints.

*Asked about what LeSean McCoy said Wednesday, RE preferring the look at the defense he gets when the quarterback is under center, Kelly said there are "a lot of different paths and angles to run" in shotgun or under center. "I like them both," he said.

*The Eagles' offense struggled down the stretch against the Cardinals in a 24-21 Eagles victory last season, in which Arizona came back from a 24-7 deficit late. Kelly said some of the problem was that the Cards knew the Eagles were trying to run to work the clock, and they crowded the line of scrimmage.
