Thoughts of the day on Sixers as they take on Wizards tonight

Sixers back at it tonight after a rare day off. They host the Wizards in the first of home-and-home, back-to-backs.

After a much needed day off, the Sixers face the Washington Wizards tonight in the first of back-to-back games.

At shootaround this morning, forward Andre Iguodala said he did some housework on his day off, and got a haircut. He said while he was at the barber a couple of fans came in and expressed how impressed they are with the team's hot 7-3 start.

Coach Doug Collins didn't have such a pleasant day as he had to have oral surgery. He did get some relief later in the day when he watched the Duke Blue Devils beat Clemson. Collins' son, Chris, is the associate head coach of Duke.

In the locker room a little bit ago, i went up to Spencer Hawes and asked him whose decision it was to make about his playing tonight. Hawes said, "That's a good question. I better go talk to coach." He did and then about five minutes later came out and gave me the thumbs up. Hawes missed the second half of Tuesday's game and all of Wednesday's game with a strained back.

More to come.
