Sixers coach Collins fined by NBA

The NBA announced yesterday that it had fined Sixers coach Doug Collins $15,000 for verbal abuse of an official after the team's 109-106 overtime win in Indiana on Saturday.

Collins' abuse was aimed at official Zach Zarba, whom Collins felt missed a couple of foul calls late in that game, most noticably a chop on the arms of guard Jrue Holiday.

But Collins probably had some pent up frustration towards Zarba. Back on February 19 at Minnesota with the Sixers leading the Timberwolves by 91-90, Zerbe called a questionable reach-in foul on Andre Iguodala as Kevin Love drove the lane. The foul was called with under a second left. Love made both foul shots to seal a 92-91 win for Minnesota.
