Hawes, Vukevic out; Brand questionable

The Sixers will be short on big men tonight when they host the Washington Wizards.

Spencer Hawes and Nik Vucevic are out of the lineup with injuries.

Elton Brand was sent home from the shootaround this morning with gastroenteritis. He is listed as questionable at will be a game-time decision.

Hawes has missed the last three games with back and then Achilles issues. Vukevic was injured Saturday against Miami with a left knee/quad strain.

That is expected to mean action for Tony Battie and rookie Lavoy Allen. If Brand is able to play, he could play some center with Thaddeus Young at the power forward, although that would leave the Sixers very small against a big Washington team.
