Eagles training camp 2013: Vegas: Michael Vick has 13th best odds to win the MVP award

According to Vegas, Michael Vick is tied with the 13th best odds to win the MVP award this season, after being named the starter yesterday morning by Chip Kelly. The website Bovada.lv posted their "player prop bets," and several Eagles appear on their lists.

Let's start with the MVP:

As noted, Vick is tied with 5 other players at 33/1 odds to win the MVP. If you believe that Vick can have the same kind of rejuvenation that he had in 2010, then 33/1 isn't all that bad. The Eagles aren't expected to challenge for the Super Bowl this season, but what if they find a way to win 10 or 11 games, and Vick has good numbers? There's a good chance he'll get some MVP consideration. 33/1 odds are pretty attractive, in my opinion.

Vick's odds of leading the league in passing yards are much more slim:

Vegas is likely operating on the thinking that Vick is bound to miss at least a game or two, which would obviously hurt his chances of compiling the most passing yards on the season. Still, one thing worth noting is that with the Eagles' hurry-up offense, the Eagles are going to run more plays this season, especially if they're trailing in a large number of games. While it would be highly unlikely for Vick to lead the league in passing yards, at 66/1 you don't have much to lose.

LeSean McCoy appeared on the list of running backs who could lead the league in rushing:

A few months ago, Pete Prisco of CBS penned a Top 100 list of NFL players that had Alfred Morris listed as the 41st best player in the NFL. LeSean McCoy did not make the list… at all. It's kind of funny how perception of players goes. In 2011, McCoy had 1309 rushing yards on 273 carries and 20 total TDs. People were calling him a clear-cut Top 3 RB. In 2012, McCoy's entire offensive line was lost for the season and the Eagles were playing from behind in every game, and suddenly McCoy's talent is gone? Ridiculous.

McCoy is going to be playing in an up-tempo offense in which he'll likely get more carries than he ever has behind an offensive line that has the potential to be special. BUY!

DeSean Jackson appeared in the "most receiving yards" category:

I'm of the belief that DeSean Jackson is going to have a big year, but he's never going to be a guy who catches 100+ passes for 1500+ yards, which is what he would need to do to lead the league in receiving yards. The Eagles are going to spread the ball around quite a bit in the passing game. The RBs and TEs will be heavily involved, and the mix of Riley Cooper, Jason Avant, and Damaris Johnson will all have some sort of role in the passing game. I just don't think there are enough touches to go around for DeSean, even at 40/1.

Zach Ertz and Matt Barkley appeared on the Offensive Rookie of the Year list:

Forget about Barkley. The only way Barkley is getting on the field this year is if the Eagles start 2-10, or if both Michael Vick and Nick Foles get hurt.

Meanwhile, Ertz would have to put up HUGE numbers to be considered for OROY as a tight end, and as noted with DeSean Jackson above, there probably won't be enough touches to go around.
