Vince Curran joins Penn coaching staff

The Quakers' radio color commentator and former player will fill the slot that opened when Jerome Allen took the head position.

I've just had it confirmed to me that Vince Curran has joined the Penn basketball team's coaching staff.

Curran, who played at Penn from 1988 to 1992, will fill the slot that had been occupied by Jerome Allen before Glen Miller was fired. Now Allen is the head coach, and Curran will move from press row to the bench.

Curran was a senior when Allen was a freshman, and the two have remained close. We all know how involved Curran is with the Penn program, and I've been told he wanted to help Allen in his first season as a head coach.

I have yet to reach any of Curran's horses for comment, but I'll let you know if they have anything to say.
