Now taking Spectacle of the Week nominations

I've got Ohio State at USC; what's your pick?

Now taking Spectacle of the Week nominations

I figured I'd start this now in the vain hope that someone out there would actually nominate a game...

Our offerings for big college football games are actually pretty substantive this next week, but we once again have a behemoth taking up most of the space on the table.

That would of course be Ohio State at Southern California, coming to you from the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum at 8 p.m. on Saturday night.

So knowing that game will be in the mix along with the local slate, what other matchups should be in the poll? Here are a few to consider:

Friday

No. 13 Kansas at No. 19 South Florida, 8:00 p.m. (ESPN2)

Saturday

Cal-Berkeley at Maryland, 12:00 p.m.
No. 2 Georgia at South Carolina, 3:30 p.m. (CBS)
Arkansas at No. 8 Texas, 3:30 p.m. (ABC)
Michigan at Notre Dame, 3:30 p.m. (NBC)
No. 9 Auburn at Mississippi State, 7:00 p.m. (ESPN2)
No. 3 Oklahoma at Washington, 7:45 p.m. (ESPN)
No. 10 Wisconsin at No. 21 Fresno State, 10:15 p.m. (ESPN2)

That's eight games. The top four will move on to the final poll Thursday morning.
