Live blog transcript: Villanova 82, West Virginia 75

Scottie Reynolds scored 19 of his 21 points in the second half as the No. 4-ranked Wildcats escaped snowy Morgantown with a hard-fought 82-75 victory over the No. 5-ranked Mountaineers.

I'm not really one for muskets or coonskin caps, to be honest. But the atmosphere at WVU Coliseum is pretty neat, with a sea of gold shirts in the stands and that red carpet they roll out when the Mountaineers take the floor.

Morgantown should be electric tonight, with both Villanova and West Virginia ranked in the Top 10. Hopefully the fans will be a bit better behaved than they were Wednesday, when some stuff was thrown on the court after the Mountaineers' win over Pittsburgh.

Even though tonight's game is part of ESPN's Rivalry Week, it obviously can't hold a candle to the Backyard Brawl. Or Villanova-Georgetown for that matter.

But it's the day after the end of the NFL season, and you couldn't ask for a more impressive doubleheader than this game and Kansas-Texas.

We've been watching college basketball all season, of course, but now there's a bit more national attention on this part of the sports landscape.

So, all together now: We go play hoop.
