And all the years
No one knows
Just how hard you worked
But now it shows

As if yesterday's mayhem wasn't enough, we're doing it all over again today. I'm ready if you are.

A reminder that our live scoreboard has box scores for every game and a dynamic bracket that updates automatically as results come in.

And a quick note of thanks. We set a new single-day traffic record yesterday of 9,981 pageviews - more than 4,500 above the previous record. Let's see if we can break 10,000 today. I think we can.

It became increasingly evident in the 1st half that Cornell has better players & better fundamentals. The only Temple guy who knows what he's doing is Fernandez.

It all started when Temple couldn't put away Richmond until the final seconds.

Note to Temple fans... you shouldn't cry about your seed, then go out and lay an egg in round 1.

Penn State fans shouldn't cry about BCS rankings and then go get dog stomped by USC in Pasadena.

An embarrassment to big 5 basketball. Villanova came close. What's going on here?

You have to be kidding me with this performance. But I am going to whine anyway. Cornell should have been seeded much higher and Temple should have been playing Wofford or something.

y'all take this all to seriously. I have more respect for athletes who play a game and lose, than the fans who sit back and bash them for losing.

About Jonathan Tannenwald
I fell in love with the Big 5 at first sight upon moving to Philadelphia in 2002. At various points in my journalistic career, I've covered all six of the region's Division I teams. During that time, I've eaten many soft pretzels from the Palestra's concession stands, which is how this blog got its name.

I write primarily about the University of Pennsylvania and the Ivy League, but I also cover the other basketball and football teams across the city from time to time. In the spring, you'll find coverage of the Penn Relays here.

In addition to all of that, I write Philly.com's soccer blog, The Goalkeeper.
