Crunchy Numbers great and small

Since I'm not going to be at the coaches' luncheon tomorrow, I figured I'd combine all of this week's local games into one post.

We start with the big boys in Division I. If you've voted in the Spectacle of the Week poll, you know that Penn State-Wisconsin is pulling away from the rest of the field. It should be a great football game as well as a great atmosphere, and it will give local fans a good way to pass the time between games of the NLCS.

Can the Spread HD offense part the Red Sea? We'll find out soon enough.

4. Penn State (4)
Last week: Road win vs. No. 69/66 Purdue, 20-6
This week: 10/11 at No. 29 Wisconsin, 8:00 p.m., ABC

Last week: Road win vs. No. 142/145 William & Mary, 38-28

We finish with the Top 10 chart, getting there by way of a quick detour to this week's Forde-Yard Dash. As Forde notes, the debate about whether the Big 12 or the SEC is the best conference in the land is going on at full tilt. Which do you think is number one?
