College GameDay going to Penn State-Alabama

This isn't too much of a surprise: ESPN's College GameDay football show is headed to Tuscaloosa, Ala., this coming Saturday for the 7 p.m. Penn State-Alabama matchup.

This isn't too much of a surprise: ESPN's College GameDay football show is headed to Tuscaloosa, Ala., this coming Saturday for the 7 p.m. Penn State-Alabama matchup.

ESPN will broadcast the game, and it is the featured telecast across the Disney networks as ABC will have NASCAR in prime time.

It will be a huge test for Penn State, especially true freshman quarterback Robert Bolden. But if there is one ray of hope for Nittany Lions fans, it is this: Alabama is 0-5 in games that have brought College GameDay to Tuscaloosa.

September 1, 2001: UCLA 20 at Alabama 17
October 5, 2002: Georgia 27 at Alabama 25
September 6, 2003: Oklahoma 20 at Alabama 13
November 12, 2005: LSU 16 at Alabama 13 (OT)
September 22, 2007: Georgia 26 at Alabama 23 (OT)

Before 2001, the only GameDay games in which Alabama was the home team were played in Birmingham.

So tell me, Nittany Lions fans: does Penn State have a shot to beat the defending national champions?
