#PhillyFive What We’re Reading: Sept. 19, 2014

What we're reading this morning.

1)   Pennsylvania's lethal-injection fiasco. The commonwealth's first execution in 15 years, set for Sept. 22, had to be postponed — after corrections officials couldn't get their hands on the lethal chemicals they needed, reports Christopher Moraff for the Daily Beast.

2)  Would-be Revel buyer wants a beachfront "university" there. Developer Glenn Straub tells Reuben Kramer of the Press of Atlantic City, "It's going to be for geniuses."

3)  Two skeletons were found holding hands after 700 years.  Some relationships last a lifetime — and archaeologists have discovered that they can last even longer after unearthing this pair at a lost chapel in England.

4)  Behind the scenes at Philly restaurants, addiction is on the menu. Elizabeth Fiedler and Marilyn D'Angelo of Newsworks detail how drug and alcohol abuse in the food service industry is among the highest of any occupation.

5)  Inspired by home. Tom Turner used stories from growing up in the Northeast as inspiration for his debut novel, writes Karen Naylor for the Northeast Times.
