#PhillyFive What We’re Reading: Sept.15, 2014

What we're reading this morning.

1.) As Philadelphia's decriminalization of small amounts of pot possession gains national attention, a City Council staffer tells Brooklyn-based VICE News that the city "forged our own path against the state."

2.) Closer to home, a columnist for the Delaware County Times blows the horn over what she apparently sees as a serious case of WIMBY (weed in my backyard).

3.) The approach to sexual assault investigations by Philadelphia police are part of a report by the New York Times that explores practices by certain jurisdictions across the country.

4.) The John C. Anderson apartments in Center City, also apparently known as the "gay-dy shady acres," were profiled in the Washington Post over the weekend.

5.) One of America's greatest military dissidents of the 20th century, Andy Stapp, who tried to unionize the Army in the 1960s and 1970s, was born in Philadelphia and raised in Merion. He died earlier this month, according to his obituary Sunday in the New York Times.
