Here's your look at five stories we're following today:

1. SRC protests: The Philadelphia Federation of Teachers is planning a rally this afternoon in protest of the School Reform Commission's decision to cancel the labor contract with teachers, a day after parent advocacy groups protested outside the school district headquarters. Meanwhile, a right-wing think tank is set to counter today's rally.

2. Cancer treatment: Big gains in cancer research are being made in Philadelphia -- the University of Pennsylvania and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia published the latest results of a novel immune therapy today, and the treatment appears promising.

3. Sports betting: The New Jersey General Assembly is slated to debate a measure to allow sports betting in the state today, aimed at boosting New Jersey's struggling gambling industry.

4. Palmer Charter lottery: The Walter D. Palmer Leadership Learning Partners Charter School is holding a lottery for K-8 students today to cut its enrollment, as the Philadelphia School District is moving to revoke the institution's charter.
