5 ways you can still enter the Broad Street Run

The Blue Cross Broad Street Run's lottery has long closed, and those with spots in the race were notified last month. But if you didn't sign up in time, or lost out in the lottery, there are still a few ways you can get into the race. But you'll need to hurry, because some of these deadlines are fast-approaching.

1. Second-chance lottery: Independence Blue Cross is offering a second-chance lottery. Register by Friday for a shot at one of the 75 bibs being given away.

2.. American Cancer Society: The organization has about 25 charity bibs available on its DetermiNation team, according to event manager John Arnao. Perks for runners include VIP packet pick-up and port-a-potties, a pre-race dinner, and coaching and fundraising mentors. There's a $500 fundraising minimum, and the deadline to sign up is Tuesday at 11:59 p.m.

3. Students Run Philly Style: Up to 85 more slots are available through fundraising for the organization. Runners must raise $500 for a charity bib, and the deadline to sign up is April 14 by noon. Fundraisers will join the nearly 1,000 Students Run Philly Style students and mentors who are participating in the race. "If somebodys fundraising for us, they can see the impact with the kids there, running alongside them," development manager Amber Adamson says.

4. Fairmount Park Conservancy: The conservancy still has charity bibs available, according to websites for the organization and the Broad Street Run. Charity runners must raise $500 and register by April 15. Fundraising runners can look forward to VIP packet pickup and a post-race tailgate party.

5. Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation: There are still 19 slots available on the charity team. Runners on the team, which has a $500 fundraising minimum, also get fundraising and training coaches, as well as race-day goodies. The registration deadline is April 19.
