Here's your daily look at five stories to know about:

1. Pastor to learn fate: A Methodist pastor found guilty Monday of violating church doctrine for presiding over his son's wedding to another man will learn his fate today. The trial for Rev. Frank Schaefer will resume this morning, with a jury of Methodist ministers slated to hear more testimony and decide whether Schaefer should be punished.

2. Transportation funding: The Pennsylvania House voted down a bill late Monday that would have provided $2.3 billion in funds for transportation infrastructure, leaving the fate of one of Gov. Tom Corbett's signature initiatives unclear.

3. Gettysburg anniversary: Today is the 150th anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, and a number of events commemorating the speech are scheduled in Pennsylvania.

4. New N.J. justice: Faustino Fernandez-Vina will be sworn in as an associate justice today on New Jersey's Supreme Court. The Cuban-American Republican from Camden County will be the only Hispanic justice on the state high court.

5. Word of the year: Oxford University Press announced today that "selfie" is its 2013 word of the year.
