10 March days that really didn't feel like spring

Today is the first day of spring, but you wouldn't know it from the temperatures in the low 30s many of us woke up to, the sleet and snow the Philly area has seen in the past week and the predicted highs in the 40s for the next week.

But March weather could be much, much worse. Here are the 10 days with record-low temperatures for the month, according to the National Weather Service:

1. March 5, 1872: Low of 5 degrees

2. March 21, 1885: Low of 6 degrees

3. March 4, 1943: Low of 7 degrees

4. March 10, 1984: Low of 7 degrees

5. March 20, 1885: Low of 8 degrees

6. March 2, 1886: Low of 8 degrees

7. March 13, 1888: Low of 8 degrees

8. March 5, 1978: Low of 8 degrees

9. March 7, 1960: Low of 9 degrees

10. March 1, 1980: Low of 9 degrees
