Villanova drops to No. 9; Temple stays at No. 20

Following its loss to Syracuse, Villanova has dropped two spots to No. 9 in the latest Associated Press poll released today. Villanova fell from No. 8 to No. 9 in the USA Today/ESPN coaches poll.

That is the lowest the Wildcats have been ranked this season. Villanova (23-5) travels to Cincinnati on Tuesday night.

Temple remained at No. 20 in the AP poll and moved up two spots to No. 16 in the coaches poll. The Owls (24-5) are at Saint Louis on Wednesday.

Syracuse is ranked No. 1 in the media poll for the first time in 20 years, moving up from No. 4 with losses by Kansas, Kentucky and Purdue. This is the third time the Syracuse has been at  No. 1. There was the preseason poll in 1987-88 and a six-week stint in 1989-90.
