'Nova's Bell invited to try out for U19 team

Villanova guard James Bell, who will be a sophomore next season, has been invited to try out for the Under-19 team that will compete at the 2011 world championships.

The training camp will be held June 17 to 24 in Colorado Springs, Colo. The 17-player camp will be used to select the 12-player team that will represent the United States.

Bell played in 25 games as a freshman.

The other invitees are: Michigan State's Keith Appling, Iowa's Melsahn Basabe, Florida's Brad Beal, Stanford's Anthony Brown, Syracuse's Trevor Cooney, California's Allen Crabbe, Michigan's Tim Hardaway, Jr., Memphis' Joe Jackson, Connecticut's Jeremy Lamb, Illinois' Meyers Leonard, Creighton's Doug McDermott, Wake Forest's Travis McKie, North Texas' Tony Mitchell, California's Richard Solomon, Arizona's Josiah Turner, and Florida's Patric Young.
