Dragons' Flint named national coach of week

Drexel coach Bruiser Flint was named national coach of the week by the Hoops Report. Flint led the Dragons to a 52-46 win at No. 20 Louisville, and also a victory at St. Francis (Pa.).

Also, Dragons senior guard Gerald Colds was picked CAA co-player of the week, after scoring 20 points against Louisville and 17 against St. Francis (Pa.).

Villanova moved up to eighth from 10th in the weekly Associated Press men's college basketball poll released today.

Temple was fourth among other teams receiving votes.

The top five remained the same: Duke, Ohio State, Kansas, Connecticut and Syracuse.

Villanova senior guard Corey Fisher has been named Big 5 men's player of the week.

Fisher scored 21 points, had six assists, five rebounds and three steals in the Wildcats' 78-59 win over Delaware on Saturday.

On the Big 5 honor roll are:

La Salle sophomore center Aaric Murray, who scored a career-high 28 points in an 89-77 win over Bucknell, and Temple junior guard Ramone Moore, who scored 21 points and had six assists, six rebounds and two blocked shots in an 84-74 win over Northern Illinois.

Saint Joseph's junior guard Michelle Baker was named Big 5 women's player of the week after scoring a career-high 29 points in a victory over Princeton.

On the women's honor roll are:

Temple junior guard Shea Peddy, who scored a game-high 19 points in the Owls' 55-43 win at Villanova, and La Salle senior guard Ashley gale, who scored 25 points and had five steals in a victory over Rider.
