Niche, which also publishes magazines such as Gotham, Hamptons and Los Angeles Confidential, has said that it targets readers with household incomes of at least $250,000. Despite laying off workers yesterday, Niche's profits are up nearly 10 percent over last year, and the company just expanded its New York offices, sources tell us.
Niche CEO Jason Binn declined to discuss specifics of the layoffs yesterday or reveal how many positions were eliminated. "We've had to accelerate the realization of our operating efficiency," Binn said. And despite the layoffs, he added, the magazine will publish eight issues annually, up from six. He says that publisher John Colabelli and editor Sarah Schaffer will remain.
"They've added glamour and luxury and a stronger connection with the community," he said.
I don't need a magazine to tell me what "style" is. I let my denim jacket, acid wash jeans and fishnet t-shirt do the talking for me. SLAP BRACELETS RULE! Citizen Rorshach

Judging by the cover, I think the only reason I'd read Philadelphia Style is for um..."inspiration." That is of course, if I couldn't find my mom's Sears catalog. Citizen Rorshach

"We've had to accelerate the realization of our operating efficiency," said Brian Tierney. "Dan Gross, was spending way too much time in the break room since we have been putting out free doughnuts. We also had to buy him 4 new keyboards in the past month due to Cheeto crumbs wedged been the keys and enough Jolt Cola in one of them to keep an 8 year old awake for a month. It was very unprofessional and we needed the 3rd Floor Handicapped stall back for mid-day power dumps. You don't understand how crazy it gets in here at lunchtime." Jack Daniels on the rocks
