Alycia Lane Arrested in New York for allegedly assaulting an NYPD officer

And the big story on Eyewitness News is that CBS 3 anchor Alycia Lane is currently locked up in a New York jail cell after being arrested early this morning for allegedly punching a female police officer in the face.

Daily News reporter Regina Medina is reporting exclusively that Lane, 35, was arrested at  2:04 a.m. today at the corner of W. 17th Street and 9th Avenue and later charged with one count of assault witih intent to cause physical injury to an officer, said NYPD spokesman Sgt. Carlos Nieves. The 10th Precinct officer suffered lacerations to her face, Nieves said. Lane was also accompanied by an unidentified male, according to the NYPD report.

Lane recently began dating Q102 morning host Chris Booker. Medina's calls to Booker's cell phone were not immediately returned today, nor was a call to a CBS 3 spokeswoman. Lane's cell phone went right to voicemail. Calls to the Manhattan District Attorney's Office were not immediately returned this afternoon.

I guess we might just have seen her time at CBS 3 come to an end. I wonder if the station will even "report" the story. I am sure Kidd Chris and Larry Mente will discuss.

I'm very shocked by this news. I hope CBS 3 will suspend or fire her for this. I'm sure KYW-TV don't like to have their talent behave like this.

I hope she wasn't drunk. I like watching her on tv. Before KYW takes action, I believe they need to find out if there is counseling or an anger management class she could take. There are always two sides to every story. How do we know the cop wasn't crooked and charged her under false pretenses?

Why are the pretty ones always so crazy? She always gave off a real b*tch vibe, so it doesn't surprise me that with the likely addition of too much booze it would bubble to the surface. But punching a cop? That's hardcore. I can't wait to see how this shakes out in the coming days.

My other comment didn't come up about how that this sort of thing goes on every night in this part of Chelsea. Basically there is an influx of suburban morons who get drunk/and or high and will often do something stupid. There are of course some unlucky ones who wind up assaulted, raped or dead, but that doesn't happen often. At least she wasn't hit by some drunk driver while stumble drunk walking to the pier 36 impound yard.
