Ryan Howard's Blue Bell home sells for $2.5M

Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard's 8,900-square-foot home in Blue Bell has sold after less than two months on the market.

The estate at 501 Deerfield Court was put up for sale in May, with a listing price of $2.69 million.

A sale closed Friday. The final sale price was $2.525 million, Cary Simons, the Kurfiss Sotheby's International Realty agent who represented the buyer, told news outlets.

Howard previously tried to sell the Montgomery County property in 2014, listing the six-bedroom, seven-and-a-half bath colonial located on a cul-de-sac for $2.95 million.

Howard bought the home in in March 2009 for $2.3 million, according to property records.

The new buyer was a local family who wanted more space and a pool, Simons told NJ.com.

The listing said the estate was "totally refurbished" in 2015 at a cost of $500,000.

The home's luxury features include two exercise rooms, handcrafted kitchen cabinetry, a wine cellar, a home theater, his-and-hers bath areas in the master suite, a sauna, a pool and pool house, a fire pit, a three-car attached garage and a three-car detached garage.

In Philadelphia, Howard owns a condo in Rittenhouse Square.
