Another $1M chopped off Lynnewood Hall

The price of Lynnewood Hall keeps dropping.

The price of Lynnewood Hall keeps dropping.

The Horace Trumbauer estate in Elkins Park recently took its second price cut and is now listed for $17.5 million – $2.5 million less than its first asking price last July.

Still, the 110-room mansion needs an estimated $50 million in repairs. No photos of the interior have been provided.

The historic estate, which Trumbauer built around 1900 for the Widener family, is currently owned by Richard Sei-Oung Yoon, a New York urologist and pastor of a Korean church.

Yoon tried to have the 34-acre property rezoned as a tax-exempt church, but was shot down by the U.S. Supreme Court in October 2013. He bought the property at a sheriff's sale in 1996.

The property is considered the largest surviving Gilded Age mansion in the Philly region. It has 70,000-square-feet of living space with more than 50 bedrooms and bathrooms. A ballroom, wine cellar, and pool are among the estate's features.

The listing has been updated to market to "developers to convert [the estate] into a hotel, business, campus or retail/housing condos."
