WATCH: Walk-off homer ends 19-inning A's-Angels game

We're all used to staying up late to watch the Phillies when they play on the west coast. But it isn't often that a game ends just before people on the east coast start to wake up.

That's what happened to the A's and Angels last night in Oakland. They played a 19-inning marathon that lasted six hours and 32 minutes. The game ended at 1:41 a.m. Pacific Time - 4:41 a.m. here in Philadelphia.

And of course it finished with a walk-off homer. Brandon Moss did the honors, giving the Athletics a 10-8 victory.

Jerry Blevins will go down as the winning pitcher, and Barry Enright as the losing pitcher. Both teams sent eight men to the mound over the course of the game. The 16 combined pitchers threw a total of 598 pitches.

Among the notable performances: Anaheim reliever Jerome Williams therw as many innings (six) as starter Tommy Hanson, and Oakland reliver Brett Anderson threw more innings (5 1/3) than starter Dan Straily (4 2/3).

At the plate, the two teams combined for 141 at-bats, including 31 hits, 12 walks and 35 strikeouts. A total of 52 runners were left on base - 22 by Anaheim and 30 by Oakland.
