The list of NFL teams Chip Kelly is linked to now includes the Texans and Falcons

Add the Houston Texans and Atlanta Falcons to the list of teams that former Eagles and 49ers coach Chip Kelly has been linked to as potential destinations.

Add the Houston Texans and Atlanta Falcons to the list of teams that former Eagles and 49ers coach Chip Kelly has been linked to for a potential destination.

The Texans link came from well-regarded NFL draft website WalterFootball.com. Its writer at the Senior Bowl heard that "sources say there is a name to keep an eye on as joining the Texans staff as an offensive assistant, and that is none other than Chip Kelly."

Kelly might not be the play-caller, as head coach Bill O'Brien has said he plans to do that himself next season. But Kelly and O'Brien know each other well, and Kelly could bring some tricks to the Texans' traditional-style playbook.

The Falcons link came from Fox Sports and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, which pegged Kelly as a potential successor to Kyle Shanahan when he leaves to take Kelly's former job in San Francisco.

The AJC's Jeff Schultz wrote earlier this week: "Being fired from two NFL jobs has humbled Kelly to a degree. He now acknowledges on some level that he will have to tweak his philosophy about a sped-up offense if he intends to remain an NFL coach."

Earlier this month, Kelly met with the New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars. Both teams did not offer him jobs.

At this rate, if Kelly is linked to enough NFL teams, he might actually get a job with one of them some day.
