Cranekicker makes some pretty logical points, besides the obvious one that the new Eagles coach is named Chip Kelly. That isn't the main reason for the petition but Cranekicker, who wishes to remain anonymous, told Philly.com that it was just "a bonus to help kick start the process."
"Basically, I don't like the Eagles uniforms. I think they're ugly," Cranekicker said. "I'm not a fan of new uniforms in general. I like the traditional football look with the block letters, kind of like what they did with the Pro Bowl uniforms this season."
But will the petition work?
When asked if he thought it would ever reach Lurie's desk, Cranekicker said, "I'm sure that if it builds enough steam it will. I'm also pretty sure he knows how Philly fans feel about that color, but he probably doesn't care."
Come on, the last Birds championship came in 1960 when they wore those swaggerific jerseys.
As CK writes, "Welllll 1960 was the last title ... we still have no Super Bowl and that’s the ultimate barometer of success so give the fans what we want."
Midnite Green but bring back silver pants and trim ... Very cool look! UVharvey
I like kelly green because WIP told me to. vafan
God, what a bunch of old foggies you green people are. Roswell followers perhaps? Green in any color stinks, although I know that the brighter greens can be seen as distinctive. You almost cannot tell the midnight green from black.
We need an extreme makeover to come along with the "Kelly era," however short that likely will be. College coaches do not adapt to the pros, but try to bring their college games with them. From that standpoint, expect to see the Oregon look, ducky or not. Paint web feet on the shoes for better traction! especially in the rains we get so much of here in the Del Valley. Actually the Delaware Valley unis, and their now great recent tradition would actually be the way to go.
But I am mostly for totally dropping the green, the Eagle logo, all of it! Time for an extreme makeover, with a football logo that really flies! And a color combo that is now a part of the times...NOT RETRO!
However, we should go back to leather helmets...or none at all. THAT would solve the concussion and broken neck problems BIG time, because men will hopefully NO LONGER tackle with their heads, but with hands like they were always suppose to! It's either that or quit this game.
How about hot pink to now openly support how gay this country really is? ocpizza
When is midnight green ? cricker

midnight green rocks, kelly green is for kindergarden lunch
I would love for this to happen but I just don't see it. The midnight green is outdated. It was popular in the late '90's and early 2000's when the team made the change and ownership was trying to infuse a new direction. But it is time for a change again. Kelly green is a classic and a mainstay color. It will also give the Eagles a vintage look and vintage is in right now. Look at what the Flyers did. They ditched the orange jerseys when black and other drab colors were in. Now they went back to the orange and I think most people agree they look that much better. jmck24
Why do we have to be critical about the owner over this uniform thing. The midnight green is sharper than the drab kelly. Just wear those once in a while. Like the Pats do with there old red white and blue with the Pat hiking the football. The kelly green brings back some unwanted memories for me. The soaring eagle grasping the football is the same thing Boston College has. RobertB
NO NO NO - That old Kelly green was weak looking stonyg
Midnight Green looks like a 90s fad color. Bring back the true Kelly Green, let's not continue to forget the Eagles heritage. bonnerlou
Championships won wearing Kelly Green = 3
Championships won wearing Midnight Green = 0 VitoCorleone
Go to Kelly green, and then find players like Reggie White, Seth Joyner, Brian Dawkins, Wilbert Montgomery, and either Randall Cunningham or Jaws. We never worried about their commitment to winning. Then, just hope Kelly is up to the gold standard of Dick Vermeil.
ewils- ewils: In a sense I find the expression of your sentiments a bit on the offensive side: Not the part about players, but the part about "the gold standard of Dick Vermeil". I agree Mr. Vermeil was a good, even a great coach if you like. BUT, he didn't win the BIG one here.
I'd actually prefer that Mr Kelly can do what Greasy Neale and Buck Shaw were able to do! (And, YES, with those Kelly green uniforms and the SOARING Eagle logo!) BEMiller
