Report: Rangers sign Oswalt

The Texas Rangers have signed free-agent pitcher Roy Oswalt, according to Gerry Fraley of The Dallas Morning News.

Oswalt, who turns 35 in August, went 9-10 with a 3.69 ERA in 23 starts last season.

In 2010, the Phillies acquired Oswalt from the Houston Astros, and he went 7-1 with a 1.74 ERA.

Terms of the deal between Oswalt and the Rangers have not been reported.

The Phillies announced Tuesday that they've placed Roy Halladay on the disabled list with a grade 1/grade 2 strain of the latissimus dorsi in his right shoulder. He is expected to miss six to eight weeks. The Inquirer's Marc Narducci has more on Halladay's injury right here.
