I almost never rip a manager because in the end, it is the players that make (or don't make) plays. But this might be the most ill-managed game I have ever seen. Let's see....1 run lead, 2 outs and a man on first...let's panic and pull the starter and go to the bullpen. Everyone knows you only go to the bullpen when a started is DONE and allowing one run in an inning on 2 hits is not done. Bullpen pitchers are by definition inferior...Manuel panicked. Let Blanton pitch 4 more outs with a lead. But that opens the floodgates and all is history. Simple rule in MLB...first team to the bullpen loses most of the time and the larger the time gap between when two teams start the bullpen the larger the odds of winning for the team to use the bullpen later. You must stick with starting pitching with 2 outs, man on first and a one run lead. STUPID.

So then as if pulling Blanton with a lead where he was basically pitching well is not stupid enough. Fast forward an hour or so and 3 batters each RIP Oswalt (luckily one was caught) but it was clear that 3 of 3 batters ripped him...First and third with one out, you need to pull him and get a K...need to go with Lidge for a potential K. He could fail, sure. But you sat there and watched 3 different batters crush balls off of Oswalt who clearly did not have anything...c'mon. Make the move and go for the K with Lidge. For that matter, why not pitch Lidge first for at least one inning before going into desperation mode..just amazing. Manuel threw up all over himself this game.

Giants fans on this board are comical. Look at them crowing and preening! Why, you ask? Well, hey, they're on the verge of winning a NLCS. As of this moment they haven't actually won anything, just a couple or 3 games. But that's okay. The Phils have won their division the past 4 years in a row, the National League Championship the past 2 years, and oh yeah, a little World Series only 2 years ago. Phillies fans also know they will be back next year. The Giants won't even make the playoffs next year. you can take that to the bank. So enjoy it now, ladies! While you're dancing in the streets we'll be doing your sisters.

Nice try, maybe next time you can add some additional useless cash to the payroll.

I listen to the games on the radio via MLB. One really odd thing is every other commercial on the Giants radio broadcast was political /election related. How sad. What's up with that? I didn't hear one political ad on the Phils, Yanks or Rangers radio broadcast. It sounded pretty weird out there.

GoodTry--- Hate the braves so it was a good try on your part at an insult, I have to give you that much. But you say always close and talking about history like its a bad thing. I think being always close is better than never close and talking about history is far better than being history. Thanks for the use of your sisters. We'll rinse 'em off and give 'em bus fare home.

Typical of someone from the NE...nice try to upset but we all know where you live and no women like the cheesy accent and fake bling...camero's went out 30 years ago and dating your sister isn't cool anymore. AND your still talking like a braves fan about being close better than not being close...kinda like being next to your sister...right?

GoodTry----- If that's the best you can do then I'll stop because a war of wits with someone who is unarmed is no fun.You said dating your sister isn't cool anymore. You mean at one time it was? Explains a lot about why Cal is a bankrupt state.Keep the dream alive and maybe one day you can marry your man at the ballpark! Prop 8 be damned! Phils in 7 !!!!!!

I lived in the NE for awhile and that is where the dating your sister comment came from ...sorry if it hit a nerve. Once again, typical NE...everyone from CA is gay because they threaten your plastic bling, baggy pants wearing, bad education, camero driving way of life.....THANK YOU for winning a bet for me....please continue to live your life in the NE
