Joel Embiid just being Joel Embiid on Comcast SportsNet Sunday night

With an injured knee forcing him off the court for the rest of the season, Sixers rookie Joel Embiid has some spare time on his hands.

So during the Sixers pregame show Sunday night ahead of their matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers, Embiid took Comcast SportsNet reporter Jessica Camerato by surprise when he snuck up behind her during the broadcast.

"We're live. We're very much live right now," Camerato said when the Sixers big man interrupted her pregame interview with host Marshall Harris.

"Welcome to L.A. You've got Sixers against Lakers on CSN," Embiid said before walking off.

"Best plug ever," Camerato exclaimed.

Later, after fellow rookie Dario Saric led the team to a 118-116 win over the Lakers, Embiid interrupted Molly Sullivan French's interview to offer his own take.

"He's the rookie of the year," Embiid said of Saric. "That's the guy."

"Based on everything I'm hearing, there is serious considering about Embiid winning the Rookie of the Year award," Smith said during a CBS-Turner press event last week. "When 'The Process' has been working, it really works."
