Jillian Mele leaving Comcast SportsNet to join Fox News

Fox News viewers in Philadelphia will soon see a familiar face.

Fox News viewers in Philadelphia will soon see a familiar face.

Jillian Mele, one of four cohosts displaced at Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia after the cancellation of Breakfast on Broad, is leaving the network to join President Trump's favorite news channel.

Fox News has confirmed the news, first reported by Crossing Broad, that Mele will join its morning news team. Although an exact start date and show haven't been decided, Mele is expected to start in her new role at the end of April.

"We are proud of Jillian's work on TCN and CSN over the past two years, and wish her the best as she embarks on the next phase of her career," CSN said in a statement. Mele's last day was Friday.

Mele joined CSN Philly after spending 7 years at NBC10, where she served at varying times as a news reporter, sports anchor and traffic reporter. She spent two years co-hosting Breakfast on Broad, for which she won an Emmy Award before the show was cancelled in February.

Mele actually interned at CSN Philly during her time at La Salle University. After her graduation in 2005, she worked as an anchor for local news shows in Presque Isle, Maine, and Binghamton, N.Y., before returning to Philadelphia to join NBC10.

Here's hoping Mele doesn't have a repeat of her Breakfast on Broad coffee snafu at her new job.
