How ex-Sixers fared in first week of NBA season

The 2012-13 NBA season is officially underway and the Sixers enter this year with high expectations. After an offseason overhaul, NBA prognosticator and fans, alike, see the Sixers making a splash in the Eastern Conference.

While much attention has been focused on this new crop of Sixers players, here's a look at how the players from last season's Sixers team fared in the first week of the NBA season with their new teams:

Andre Iguodala

After eight seasons with the team, Iguodala was traded by the Sixers to the Denver Nuggets in the deal that brought Andrew Bynum and Jason Richardson to Philadelphia. Iguodala is second on the team in scoring average (14.0 PPG) for the 0-3 Nuggets as the starting shooting guard.

In the Nuggets' latest game against the Heat on Saturday, Iguodala produced some late-game heroics. Down a point with 14.1 seconds remaining, Iguodala hit a long jumper over Dwyane Wade to give the Nuggets the lead. However it wasn't enough to hold off the Heat as Ray Allen completed a four-point play on the ensuing possession.

Elton Brand

The Sixers used the amnesty clause to clear the Brand's $18.2 million salary off their books for the 2012-13 season. Placed on amnesty waivers, Brand landed in Dallas after the Mavericks' $2.1-million winning bid. The Sixers are on the hook for the remaining balance owed to Brand in the final year of his deal.

The Mavericks have plugged Brand into their starting lineup and are off to a 2-1 start. In the Mavericks season-opening win over the Lakers, Brand led the team in minutes played (36). Dallas has lowered his minutes played in the team's following two games.

Lou Williams

After seven seasons with the Sixers, Williams signed a three-year contract with the Atlanta Hawks in the offseason. Last season, he led the Sixers in scoring and was the go-to scorer in the fourth quarter despite coming off the bench. Through two games this year, Williams seems poised to do the same this year with the Hawks.

Williams was vital to the Hawks' latest win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday, scoring 14 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter. The Hawks are currently 1-1.

Nikola Vucevic

Vucevic was another piece in the deal to acquire Andrew Bynum and Jason Richardson. Vucevic was sent to the Magic to help fill the void left by Dwight Howard in the frontcourt. With the Magic in rebuilding mode, the young seven-footer will have plenty of opportunities to establish himself in Orlando's starting lineup. Vucevic is second on the team in rebounds and fifth in scoring.

Jodie Meeks

Meeks signed a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers as a free agent in the offseason to backup 14-time NBA All-Star Kobe Bryant. Meeks has played limited minutes in two games of the Lakers' 0-3 start.

Andes Nocioni

After a two-year stint with the Sixers, Nocioni is spending this season overseas in Spanish League ACB. Nocioni is the co-leading scorer for 1-3 Caja Laboral.
