German astronaut watches homeland win World Cup from space

Alexander Gerst was walking on air when Germany won the World Cup. Literally!

Well, he was floating on air. And it may not have been air. It was certainly oxygen, but it was being pumped in artificially. So. You might say he was floating on an oxygenized environment. If you wanted to be closer to correct.

Whatever, I'm saying he was in space. As a German, he also had a stake in the outcome of the World Cup. Fortunately, Germany kept doing what they've been doing in the World Cup and neutralized Argentina.

Just like our @DFB_Team_EN I have fantastic support from my crew. Congrats from #ISS to the #WorldChamp. Great game! pic.twitter.com/sw4gGbtvwh

Here's hoping the Germans are nowhere near as dominant in their acquisition of space as they are on the soccer field.
