Fantasy roundup: A tale of two staffs

Here are our roster picks of the week:

Add:

Troy Glaus, 1B, Braves - Glaus has been on fire. He has 3 HRs, 7 RBIs and is batting .417 over the last week. Going back a month, he is hitting .304 with 19 RBIs. This guy is only owned in 16 percent of Yahoo! leagues, so pick him up.

Drop:

Scott Kazmir, SP, Angels - If you still have this guy, drop him so you might have a chance at posting a low ERA. Kazmir has a 6.82 ERA and just one quality start this season.

Three up:

Phillies Pitching - The staff was 12-10 in April with a 4.34 ERA, but has been one of the best in baseball in May, with an 11-3 record and a 2.83 ERA.  The starters are 9-2 and Joe Blanton is the only one with a loss (1-2).

Carlos Gonzalez, OF, Rockies - The Phillies got a taste of how hot the Rockies outfielder is last week. He has hit .318 and had has 11 RBIs in the last week and a half.

Andrew McCutchen, OF, Pirates - McCutchen is hitting over .400 in May and .340 for the season. More importantly, he delivers a stat that can often be the difference in close matchups: stolen bases.

Three down:

Mets Pitching - No starting pitcher for the Mets had recorded a win in May until Monday. Enough said...

Matt Wieters, C, Orioles - The Orioles' catcher was just 2-for-16 last week with no runs scored and no RBIs. On top of that, his batting average in May is just .234, compared to .280 in April.

Ryan Braun, OF, Brewers - Braun hit just .143 last week with no RBIs. I'm not saying to drop him, but he did have a rough week, having to face the red-hot Phillies' pitching.
