Another fan runs on to the field at Citizens Bank Park

POSTED: Monday, September 20, 2010, 11:10 PM

If you were watching Monday night's Phillies-Braves game on local television here in Philadelphia, or listening on the radio, you heard that a fan ran on to the field at Citizens Bank Park in the bottom of the eighth inning. Although the fan wasn't shown on the Philadelphia broadcast, it was shown on Fox Sports South in Atlanta.

In a rare show of positive feelings towards an opponent, Phillies fans gave Braves left fielder Matt Diaz quite the ovation after he tripped up the intruder. Security apprehended the fan soon thereafter.

Here's video of the incident. Hat tips to TheFightins.com and the many other bloggers who got the footage up on YouTube.

MLB network showed it too. I follow Phillies tweets on twitter during games. The amazing thing was within about 1 minute of when it happened someone had the video posted online. Cant beat real time national fan reaction for added entertainment. Watching the Braves fans bellyache is priceless as well.

Youhavegottobekidding. I think you're right. Can you guys stick to the subject, is the ADD kicking in? video has nothing to do with politics, presidents or dancing Palins. Baseball is the only thing left enjoyable, and for people who supposedly hate the President, you sure do say his name each and every chance you get.

That bald guy went down like a ton of bricks and nobody even touched him. Watch his head bounce off the turf.

Diaz, two minutes for tripping. Red guy, game misconduct.

It was comical watching the keystone cops failing and then to see Diaz calmly trip the guy. Classic.

Diaz should have taken him down with a clothesline.

These fools should be treated as potential terrorist, because they are! And shipped off to Gitmo for interrogation!

The "security" staff at the park is horrible. The bald security guy tripped over his own feet! Bring back the cops with the tazer to deal with these clowns. Let the stadium security deal with people that are in the wrong seats and crowd control.

I wonder if the guy came dressed this way, or if he snuck in the outfit? And is this something you brag about later? "Hey, I dressed like a poor Spiderman and got tripped by the outfielder! It was awesome!" I wish these glory-hounds would stop making Philly fans look like the local government officials (i.e. idiots).

What no taser this time? Disappointed! I wonder if it was the same person as last time... When the identity be made public?

It was a joke Jopal. If you don't have a sense of humor, you should move to Russia.

Why do idiots keep doing this? Is there any real punishment for running onto the field?

Bravo to Comcast Sportsnet who never shows the idiots running on the field. Shame on SportSouth!

The President of the United States is welcome in Philadelphia any time. And you philsfansince1946 should be ashamed of yourself. If you don't like our country, move to Somalia.
