The 24th Annual Outfest Block Party was held on Sunday, Oct. 12. The cool, crisp weather welcomed thousands of people, some even bravely sporting summer-like attire. Over the years the block party has grown from a humble one block gathering on Pine Street near Giovanni's Room to 9 full blocks in the Gayborhood surrounding 13th and Locust.

Each intersection of Outfest had a stage or live entertainment. The main stage was located at 13th and Locust Streets where there was a belly dancing contest, the gayest dog contest (with actual dogs), the very popular drag wars and an appearance by Frannie Price, the original founder of the celebration, as well as the executive director of the Philadelphia Gay Pride Parade.

At 13th and Spruce folks could enjoy family fun games and ride a mechanical bull. 12th and Spruce was where the EDM music was pumping and a few club kids took to the streets to shake their groove. At 12th and Locust there was a karaoke stage and in between the two intersections, ICandy had a strippers stage. Around the corner UBar, and other drinking establishments on Camac Street, were overflowing with men in their chaps, jeans and muscle shirts. Down the street at Woody's the windows were were wide open, and the younger crowd socialized on the patio smoking and cruising the crowd to see who might catch their eye. Outside guests were seated at tables in the street enjoying a bite to eat and a few beers.

It was a beautiful day, with a lot to celebrate with friends.
