Vermeil addresses rumors

Since Carl Peterson resigned earlier this week, rumors have circulated that Dick Vermeil might be interested in returning to the Chiefs in a front-office role. Vermeil today addressed those rumors, talking to Kent Babb of The Kansas City Star. According to the blog post, Vermeil calls reports that he's going to K.C. in a Bill Parcells-like role nothing but a "big rumor." But when asked if he was saying he wouldn't be interested in such a thing, Vermeil didn't exactly shoot the idea down. "I didn't say that," he said. "I said no one talked to me about that." Vermeil coached the Chiefs from 2001-05 for five seasons, but Kansas City only made the playoffs once during his tenure.

Nutburgers, good question. Most notably, the rumors surfaced on profootballtalk.com. Wherever they circulated, it was enough for The Kansas City Star to reach out to Vermeil to comment. Thanks for reading.

Skapadia didn't you know no one does research anymore. The Kansas City Star just go on the internet saw the story and ran with it. That how journalism works now.

yeah, bring Vermeil back, wooohoo! 'Cause he was so much greater than Reid! He actually got us to a *Superbowl* as opposed to Reid who...oh yeah, got us to a Superbowl, too. Well, at least Vermeil was a winning coach as opposed to...oh, wait, Reid is the winningest Eagles coach ever? Well, at least Vermeil cried in press conferences for the journalists and idiot fans who care more about how the coach acts than how he, you know, coaches.

reb.......So your saying Vermiel made the same bone head calls Reid still makes after 10 years? If Kotite was hear long enough, then he would be the winningest coach in Eagles History. At least Vermiel has passion, and in case you forgot, he won a superbowl with another team. You must have forgot that, otherwise you would not have posted something so stupid.
