Reports: Springs to the Patriots

According to Shalise Manza Young of The Providence Journal, cornerback Shawn Springs is expected to sign with the New England Patriots.

The Eagles brought in Springs for a visit yesterday, and he revealed that the team was looking at him to play safety.

When reporters from The Inquirer or Daily News have an update on Springs, we'll include it in this post.

Meanwhile, teams are announcing left and right that they don't want Terrell Owens. Earlier, we mentioned the possibility of the Redskins as a possible destination, but Washington V.P. of football operations Vinny Cerrato says the team has "no interest," per

The one team that I have not seen go on the record and deny interest, and that some have rumored to be a possible destination, is the Oakland Raiders.

We'll keep you posted.

UPDATE (6:11 p.m.): Adam Schefter of the NFL Network also reports that Springs and the Patriots have agreed to a deal. Per Schefter, the deal is expected to be signed some time Thursday.
