Mock drafts: Who will the Eagles take?
Sheil Kapadia, Philly.com
Earlier this week, I linked to Mel Kiper's first mock draft. He had the Eagles taking Wisconsin offensive tackle Gabe Carimi.
Here's a look at a few others that have popped up:
ESPN.com's Todd McShay also has the Birds taking Carimi:
The Eagles have been up-and-down with their offensive line picks in recent years, but while Carimi has some limitations athletically there is little doubt in my mind he's NFL-ready and will be a quality starter at right tackle for the next 10 years. He's the most technically sound and consistent lineman in this year's class.
Andrew Perloff of SI.com has the Eagles taking Texas cornerback Aaron Williams:
Opponents too easily picked on whoever wasn't being covered by Asante Samuel last season. The Eagles would be very happy if the Longhorns corner was still available.
Rob Rang of CBSSports.com has the Eagles taking Miami cornerback Brandon Harris:
The Eagles feature one of the league's best corners in Asante Samuel, but have struggled with consistency on the other side without journeyman Ellis Hobbs, who missed almost half of the season with a career-threatening neck injury. Harris struggled early on in the Sun Bowl loss to Notre Dame, but his speed and agility make him one of the draft's top corners and a good value here.
TITANS' SEARCH FOR A COORDINATOR
The Titans fired their defensive coordinator, Chuck Cecil, earlier this week. And while Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean calls it a longshot, he said the Titans are interested in Jim L. Mora. Mora, of course, was mentioned in connection with the Eagles' and Broncos' openings, but withdrew his name from consideration for both opportunities.
Per Wyatt, Eric Mangini has emerged as a candidate for the Titans.
The Eagles, meanwhile, are expected to interview Saints defensive backs coach Dennis Allen today.
And finally, if you missed it from Friday, I posted a piece about Brandon Graham's production as a rookie.

Sheil, if it was put on a credit card you may have recourse through them. If so, I might be able to help you. You should be able to access my email through this site's info if you want some advice. Mabus
Adz has a Facebook page...http://www.facebook.com/pages/ADZ-Kozlowski-Golf-Lessons/128137623879375. Not a bad place for comments regarding his treatment of Sheil. renal- I would have to agree with the FB approach - if all SK says is true, which I'm sure it is, then any and all Philly backers can make a huge dent in this guy's credibility on FB.
time to call joey-bag-o-doughnuts to clean this up eagledon- I like the joey-bag-o-doughnuts fix.......................... djlen
Sheil, Try to get those lessons. Adz gave me three lessons and I won the U.S. Amateur the following month. tommy_the_k
moral of the story.....never give money to a guy named Adz!!! Frank_Drebin
Those are decent mock guesses for the Eagles. They need a OT and CB, and will use 1st round picks on those at times. If an analyst has the Eagles taking a linebacker in round one, and doesn't say this would be a break in tradition, then he doesn't know what he's doing. The fans of teams tend to know their organization's tendencies better than the analysts do. The analysts know the college players better, on the whole. I think the corners this year are better than the tackles, so I see the Eagles with a CB in the first round, hoping to go offensive line in round two. armchairGM
Eagles trade their 1st & one of the 4's to move up & take a kicker just to surprise everyone Mabus- Sheil: good job this season on the blog, thats pretty funny about the golf lessons. I would recomend his name to Andy Reid...they could use another guy who says he is going to do something and never does it.
The Eagles should draft an O-lineman, then a corner, then an outside linebacker. Hopefully they can sign Asomugha and that will take care of the corner. ej610
I agree ej610 sign asomugha! him and samuel would be sick! Geno D- Andy and the gang will draft someone from Nowhere State and declare him the greatest find in the draft and then he will suck. Andy was the genius who drafted L.J. Smith over Jason Witten which was a disaster. shawnmac
- He also grabbed Jerome McDougle in that draft...UGH!

Since we have already passed on to the draft, with naming all of our coaches, or settling the quarterback situation, or for that matter having a players contract, I would like to propose something controversial.
Lets trade DeSean Jackson, move up to grab Julio Jones of Alabama.
I realize Djack is very popular, but he's also showing the signs of being a diva. What I fear is a foot stomping trade me or pay me holdout that could split this team down the middle. Also he has a small man's body and as we have seen with other small bodied player - like Billy Simms, and Allen Iverson- they are prone to body breakdown. I think the Eagles could command a high 1st and 2nd for DJack. angrybear
