List: Draft prospects Eagles have shown interest in
Sheil Kapadia, Philly.com
Last week, a reader asked me to compile a list of draft prospects the Eagles have reportedly shown interest in.
Since we're a blog for the people here at MTC, I've decided to do just that.
In parentheses, I've included the date of the report. Each item attributes the report to a specific source.
Now it's important to note that the Eagles could easily draft a player not on this list, someone they haven't even worked out or hosted for a visit.
And it's also important to note that I probably missed some guys. So e-mail me with the link if you've got a prospect for me to add. And bookmark this link so you can keep coming back to it over the next couple of weeks. I'll keep it as updated as possible.
UPDATE: Thanks to reader Adam for helping with names to update the list already. Again, I'm sure I'm still missing some so freel free to e-mail me.

This isn't Madden 2010 DrZ88 .... Lets get real for a second. I say if we are able to trade up in the second round to get Kenny Britt .. we will be just fine.. jaydes- great list - thanks! if the Eagles have visited with two of the top 3 tackles in the draft, then I think they will make a move on draft day to get one (including trade for Peters). Obviously Smith and Monroe won't drop to #21. Interesting that Pettigrew, Moreno, and Wells are not on that list - and almost every mock draft I've seen has them taking at least one of those three in the 1st round. And Chase Coffman went to Missouri.
The team has been to 5 NFC Championships in the last eight seasons. Yeah, they don't want to win. You guys are hilarious! StopThePanic
DrZ did you mean "washed up, washed up, going to jail, Boldin, led the league in drops, and declining prima donna"? Meanwhile, imagine Jerry Rice teaching DeSean...waitaminute...As nice as those names look, the only players realistically worth adding right now are Boldin, Gonzo, and to a lesser extent (though last year was probably a fluke for him) Braylon. And to get those guys, you're leaving the LT slot to a depression patient who played all of 2 games last year or a guy whose arms are so short the rest of the line jokes about it. Talkin About Practice
why have Harrison teach D.Jackson how to run routes when we have Andy "475 lbs" Reid to show him. Nothing but the truth- Sheil, thanks. You da man - this is exactly what the Philadelphia Media should be keeping track of each draft season! dpcoz

Canuck, I read elsewhere that the Eagles are bringing Moreno in. DrZ, they can't trade for Boldin, Edwards or Johnson because those players aren't available...yet. The other team has to actually want to trade a player before we can trade for them. Edwards had 1 good year and hasn't proven that he can be a consistent #1. Johnson is a headcase. I wouldn't trade for either of them. I would trade for Boldin though...if he was available...and I think the Eagles would too...again, if he is available...and he's not...not yet. The reason they haven't tried to sign Harrison and Holt is because of age and injury concerns. They aren't going to sign a 3-4 year deal with an aging, banged up WR. Besides, I think they'd rather see what happens with Boldin and the draft first. If they can get Boldin or a young WR in the draft that they really like, they'd rather go that route than rush into a deal with Holt or Harrison that overpays them and comes with a 3-4 year length. Patience is certainly not a virtue when it comes to Philly fans but the NFL off-season is a long period. There's still the draft, then there will be another round of free-agency after the draft, then some vets will get cut to avoid roster bonuses and pare down salary. Still got a long way to go. The Eagles will go after guys if they are enamored with them, but if they aren't, they are going to wait things out and not just rush around making knee-jerk, panicky moves. JimG
DrZ that makes too much good sense. Exactly why it will never happen in Philadelphia. tripschaos
Guaranteed the Eagles will mess it up somehow. That is only certainty going on here. I really don't understand why they just don't get, one of two of these guys: Harrison, Holt, Buress, Boldin, Edwards, Ocho Cinqo. All of them are an upgrade over what they have. They got rid of Greg Lewis for god's sake. Let Baskett ride pine. You start Harrison and 85 and DeSean Jackson. Curtis comes in on 4 receiver sets. Really isn't rocket science. They should get Tony Gonzalez too, who has also expressed interest to leave. Sure, some of these guys are old, but it is good way to go until younger guys/draft picks pan out. Imagine Harrison teaching DeSean. Imagine Tony G teaching Celek. What on earth is Joe Banner and Andy Reid doing right now. I really don't think they want to win...that is for sure. DrZ88
I've read that over the last few years many teams have moved away from that chart. They have especially devalued the highest picks. In this year, with a lot of underclassmen coming out combined with the feeling that their is less of a gap than normal between say pick 8 and pick 23, that trend should be magnified. Warhound
You're making me laugh again! How do you spell morons? losteagle- Louis Delmas is very intriguing. If he falls to the 2nd round, the Birds might want to put together a package to nab him. Apparently the best safety in the draft.
Sidbury is going to be a beast! dariesmi1
How about Brandon Pettigrew and Beanie Wells? I think Heyward-Bey has a tremendous upside. Maryland never had a QB that could get the ball downfield to him. He has the size and vertical to go get balls, and breakaway speed to take it to the house if Donovan can manage to hit him in stride. amaysnfoods
21, 28 and a 5th rounder will get you into the top 5, according to the chart. However, it won't get a 2nd rounder in return. StopThePanic
Are the 21 and 28 picks really going to get you a top five pick, and a 2nd rounder on top of that? Unless the particular team thinks they don't need a true impact player, just a couple pieces, I'd guess it's more likely somewhere in the 9-12 range. Anyone have a mock up of the "draft pick value" chart teams use to rate out trades of picks? B in DC
Since the two RBs are both going to be there at pick 28 and possibly into early 2nd round, it makes me wonder if they expect to use pick 21 somewhere else (or possible move up for Monroe). Maybe they plan to swap 21 and 28 for a top 5 pick plus that teams 2nd round pick. Who knows? It does sound like some top 5 teams want to save the money (the guarenteed money for those top picks is insane). I'd be very happy to get Monroe and either RB (McCoy or Brown) one way or another. McCoy and Borwn both fit our system very well since they are good runners and receivers. Dish
Why is Moreno not listed up there? They must have at least been at his Pro Day. Canuck_Eagles_Fan
I could see them drafting Sidbury in second or third round too. t_dmanns

I've had a bad feeling about Lawrence Sidbury being the Eagles' token surprise draft pick ever since I heard Mel Kiper run down the kid's scouting report. owumd
