Eagles draft buzz: More workouts, visits

With the draft 23 days away, the workouts and visits continue for the Eagles.

Adam Caplan of FoxSports.com reports that the Birds will host New Mexico State cornerback Davon House and Utah guard Caleb Schlauderaff.

House (6-1, 200) was a four-year starter and two-time All-WAC first-team selection. He had 11 interceptions (returning two for touchdowns) during his college career. House ran a 4.50 40-yard dash at the combine, but reportedly improved that time to a 4.35 at his Pro Day.

Various draft sites have House going anywhere from the second round to the fourth round in this month's draft.

Schlauderaff (6-4, 305), meanwhile, was a four-year starter and earned third-team All-America honors as a senior. He was also a four-time All-Academic team selection in the Mountain West conference.

"Caleb's a great kid," said Utah coach Kyle Whittingham in an interview with the Deseret News last season. "He's a smart kid with high character. He's been a mainstay on our offensive line for a lot of years now. What you get from Caleb is consistency every day at practice, every week, every game."

Draft projections have Schlauderaff slated anywhere from a mid-round pick to an undrafted free agent.

The Birds have also taken a look at a couple of defensive tackle prospects. Clemson's Jarvis Jenkins was in for a visit on Monday, his agent told Tim McManus of Philly Sports Daily.

Jenkins (6-4, 310) was a three-year starter and an All-ACC selection as a senior. According to NFL Network's Mike Mayock, Jenkins projects as a second-round pick.

Another defensive tackle the Birds are taking a look at is Temple's Muhammad Wilkerson, who will work out for them on April 15, according to McManus and Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post.

The Inquirer's Jonathan Tamari wrote about Wilkerson (6-4, 315) during the combine.

Per Wilson, Wilkerson is expected to go in the second half of the first round.

Wilson also reports that Miami cornerback DeMarcus Van Dyke visited the Eagles yesterday. I wrote about Van Dyke last month.
