Eagles check out Slippery Rock center, Temple safety

With the draft only a month away, the Eagles continue preparations with prospect workouts.

Slippery Rock center Brandon Fusco is the latest name to surface. He is scheduled to make an official visit to meet with Andy Reid and the coaches on April 5.

Fusco (6-4, 316) was a four-year starter and won the Gene Upshaw Division II Lineman of the Year Award as a senior.

Wes Bunting of the National Football Post has Fusco ranked as his fourth-best center prospect.

Jamaal Jackson is the favorite to start at center for the Eagles in 2011, but he's suffered season-ending injuries two years in a row. Mike McGlynn also gained valuable experience last season, but he could get a shot at right guard.

Jackson turns 31 in May and is signed through 2013. McGlynn turned 26 earlier this month and is signed only through 2011.

Jarrett (6-0, 198) is considered a mid-round pick by most draft pundits and has workouts/visits lined up with the Broncos, Jets, Giants and Rams, according to the NFP report. Russ Lande of The Sporting News calls Jarrett "one of the most underrated players in the draft."

The Eagles are also reportedly working out Cal safety Chris Conte. On Sunday, I wrote about Conte and the Eagles' overall safety situation this offseason.

And in case you missed it, yesterday I wrote about Asante Samuel, Joselio Hanson, Nnamdi Asomugha and the Eagles' cornerback situation.
