Workshop offered on how to keep dating violence-free


The Ardmore Avenue Community Center, in conjunction with the church school at Zion Baptist Church of Ardmore, is offering a free workshop March 31 on how to keep dating violence-free.

"Love Is Not Abuse: Know the Facts," is targeted at girls ages 13 and older.

The workshop will be presented by Tommie T.L. Wilkins, director of training and education at Laurel House, the safe haven for battered women in Montgomery County.

The session will go from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Ardmore Avenue Community Center, 122 Ardmore Ave., Ardmore.

Participants can wear pajamas and slippers, and are encouraged to bring a friend. Games will be played and lunch will be served.

The workshop is free, but those in attendance are asked to bring a brand new pair of pajamas to be donated to Laurel House.
