Telling documents in LMTP harassment case

Remember the Lower Merion woman who recently stood up at a board of commissioner's meeting and accused an officer -- by name -- of sexually assaulting and harassing her? Well, she's now filed a federal lawsuit against him and the township.

The Inquirer's Nathan Gorenstein reports:

A Lower Merion woman has sued the township, police department and a patrolman, saying she was stalked by the married officer after she broke off a budding relationship with him.

Gabrielle Drexler, 25, filed suit in U.S. District Court, a step taken after she appeared at a township commissioners meeting in May to complain about the incident. She said the officer, Michael John, repeatedly called her, texted her, parked near her home and peered into her window.

The incidents were alleged to have occurred in 2010, and Drexler said they left her traumatized and fearful. She is seeking in excess of $100,000 in damages. Township officials did not return calls or emails seeking comment. A home number for John was not available. A telephone and email message seeking to contact John was left with the department's superintendent.
