Abington Y to host annual walk-run on Turkey Day



The Abington Y is hosting its ninth annual Gobble Wobble 5K run and 2-mile walk on Thanksgiving Day. The USATF- certified 5K will be held Nov. 24 at 9 a.m. at the Abington Y,  1073 Old York Rd., Abington.

The sponsor is Lincoln Investment of Wyncote, PA.  All proceeds benefit the Abington Y's financial assistance program, which helps children, adults and families to enjoy the Ys programs and services.

Nearly 2,000 walkers, joggers and runners will be crossing the Olympic-style finish line that day. The event will begin and end at the Abington Y; it will go on, rain or shine.

Registration is available on race day  from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.  Awards will be given to the overall top 3 male and female runners, the top 3 runners in specific age groups, and others.
