Seu Jorge's 'Life Aquatic' tribute to David Bowie adds second Union Transfer show

Bowie, Bowie, and more Bowie.

Since the Thin White Duke's death in January there have been various and sundry ways to celebrate his life and influence.

The Man Who Fell To Earth soundtrack is being reissued. The soundtrack from Lazarus, the Off-Broadway musical starring Michael C. Hall with three new Bowie songs is due out in November. As are single and double CD greatest hits albums, each called Legacy.

And the big one is Who Can I Be Now? 1974-1976, the planned-by-Bowie-himself box set which includes The Gouster, the Brit rock star's lost Philly soul album. Read all about that in my Inquirer Sunday column here.

On top of all this, there's Seu Jorge. The Brazilian actor and musician was featured in Fernando Meirelles' 2002 City of God and more to the point, Wes Anderson's 2004 The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou, in which he sang Bowie songs in Portuguese. Bowie praised Jorge's versions for taking his songs to "a new level of beauty."
