Philadelphia Folk Festival to feature Los Lobos, Marty Stuart, Buffy Sainte-Marie, more

Plus Anderson East, Buckwheat Zydeco, The Lone Bellow and Del & Dawg.

The lineup for the 55th annual Philadelphia Folk Festival has been announced and its headed up by Los Lobos, the great Chicano band from East Los  Angeles who by an act of criminal neglect, were once again passed over for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year.

Also on hand at the Old Pool Farm in Upper Salford Township near Schwenksville will be folk harmony trio The Lone Bellow, country and bluegrass standard bearers Marty Stuart & His Fabulous Superlatives, Native Canadian songwriter Buffy Sainte-Marie, Louisiana accordion squeezer Buckwheat Zydeco, Alabama soul man Anderson East, and Del & Dawg, the collaboration between bluegrass great Del McCoury and mandolinist David Grisman.

The fest will take place from August 18 to 21 and feature many more acts, including harmonizing foursome Darlingside, Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary and a Rock My Soul pairing featuring The McCrary Sisters and The Fairfield Four.

Much loved Philly folk father figure Gene Shay, who's never missed a fest, will emcee, and David Dye of The World Cafe will host a Camper's Only show on Thursday night with Liz Longley, Quiet Life and The Sheepdogs.

More acts are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. Tickets are  available here
